Building Optform with passion & purpose

The story behind the form builder that's changing how we collect data and connect with people.

About Optform

In the summer of 2025, I (Tino) launched Optform - a revolutionary form builder that transforms boring questionnaires into engaging, conversational experiences that people actually want to complete.

The spark behind the idea

Forms are everywhere, yet most of them suck. Long, intimidating walls of questions that make users bounce faster than a rubber ball. I knew there had to be a better way.

What if forms could feel like friendly conversations instead of interrogations?

That question became my obsession, and Optform became the answer.

My journey as a maker

I've always been a tinkerer, exploring new technologies and building things that solve real problems.
Over the years, I've crafted various digital experiences:

  • A thriving community platform - mastering the full stack from frontend magic to backend wizardry
  • An impact-driven NGO app - publishing development activities aligned with international standards
  • A smart Chrome extension - helping homebuyers discover properties near what matters most
  • Countless experiments - some brilliant, some disasters, all valuable learning experiences

For me, building isn't just work—it's active meditation. A way to channel creativity into something meaningful that makes people's lives a little bit better.

Optform represents the culmination of all that experience, with one crystal-clear mission:
to make data collection smarter, more human, and genuinely enjoyable.

Why I chose independence

From day one, I bootstrapped Optform with my own savings and a lot of coffee.
Being self-funded means I can focus on what you actually need, not what suits investor spreadsheets. I move at my own pace, make decisions quickly, and stay laser-focused on the vision.

No board meetings. No compromise. Just pure focus on making forms that don't suck.

What Optform really means

The name Optform isn't just clever wordplay—it represents three core principles:

  • Opt-in - Create forms so engaging that people want to complete them
  • Option - A refreshing alternative to bloated, overcomplicated form builders
  • Optimize - Use smart insights to continuously improve conversion rates and user experience

You're the boss here

Since Optform is user-funded, you—the person actually using it—are my North Star.
I listen to every piece of feedback, adapt quickly, and ship improvements fast. Your success is literally my success.

No corporate bureaucracy. No feature committees. Just direct communication between maker and user.

How I build

Being small and independent means I can move like a startup while thinking like an enterprise.
Optform runs on rock-solid infrastructure, but I can still push updates, fix bugs, and add features at lightning speed.

Think Netflix-level reliability with indie-level agility.

The Optform philosophy

Forms shouldn't feel like digital paperwork from 1995.
With Optform, creating a form is quick, intuitive, and dare I say it—actually enjoyable. Every pixel, every interaction, every feature is designed with one goal: making your life easier and your forms more effective.

Built for real humans

I believe technology should serve everyone, not just the tech-savvy elite.
Optform empowers anyone—from solo entrepreneurs to Fortune 500 companies—to collect data and automate workflows without needing a computer science degree or a massive budget.

Great tools shouldn't require great technical skills.

Building in the open

I share my journey as an independent maker—the victories, the face-palm moments, the 3 AM debugging sessions, and everything in between. It's all part of inspiring and connecting with fellow builders who believe in creating something meaningful.

Transparency isn't just good business; it's good karma.
